Our Favorite Things 2020: Quick + Sweet Knit Gifts

Tis the Season for Gifting Knits!

Although neither Sloane or I are particularly fond of last minute gift knitting, we both always seem to end up with something on the needles for a special someone during the winter holidays. Today we took a stroll through Ravelry's project pages to see what you all have been up to this year in the way of quick + sweet giftable knits and we weren't disappointed. You all have been busy this year!

Powder Snow by Kehley Vellekamp (@kehleycovi on IG)

We love Kehley's adorable Powder Snow by designer Verena Kohrs! She used less than one skein of Forge in our fan favorite natural colorway, Fawn. This delightful hot water bottle cover will help keep your toes warm all winter long.

Love Owls by debirose2 on Ravelry

Meghan has a thing for owls and these adorable Love Owls, designed by Susan B. Anderson, were such a treat to stumble upon. debirose2 used under a skein of Forge in our natural Aspen (which also works great in Fawn) for both of these sweeties! Grab a skein of Gold Leaf for the bright accents to make a toy that will delight kids + adults.

Dissent Toque by Skye (@hooklineandknitter on IG)

In homage to the late, great Notorious RBG, this beautiful hat, designed by our friend Andrea Rangel, used under a skein each of Weld in Red Feather and Fawn. We adore this rich and autumnal color combination, as well as the woman to whom this hat pays tribute.

Voe Hat by Teraissa (@sister_tea on IG)

Subtle, beautiful, and deceptively simple colorwork are all things we love in a quick and rewarding colorwork hat. Teraissa used Weld in Fawn, Lake, and Golf Leaf to recreate Gudrun Johnson's gorgeous Voe Hat. We love the brim accent in Lake and how perfectly the colors complement each other. Just gorgeous!

Firefall Toque by Meghan Babin (@meggospurls on IG)

Sometimes we can't help ourselves, but I had to toss in my Firefall Toque designed by the super talented and awesome Amy Christoffers. Made in one skein of Forge in Gold Leaf, this hat is now living on the head of one of my dearest friends. It's kept her noggin' warm for about a year, as I made this for her last year during the holidays, so I can attest to this project as a quick and rewarding gift knit!

And because I really can't help myself....

Warning: This is NOT a quick or simple knit.

Knives Out Sweater by Zoe (@zobly on IG)

This knock out, totally improvised sweater design is based on the drool-worthy cabled white sweater Chris Evans wore in Knives Out. Zoe used Forge in Aspen (easily replaced with Fawn or any color you desire) to make this masterpiece. Luckily, there is now a FREE pattern available for this iconic sweater and it's in a worsted weight and perfect for Forge! For all those obsessed with Chris Evans and/or this sweater I can't wait to see your versions!

Happy Gift Knitting!

Meghan
