All Hands Together: Kicking Off Our Hatalong!
Away we go! We're kicking off our knit-along for our All Hands Beanie series today, and Meghan's on deck to walk you or the new knitter in your life through this adorable, classic hat, from cast on to finishing. We've also got the full schedule of tutorials, which is as follows:
- Today, June 19th: Long-Tail Cast On + quick tip: measuring for your long-tail CO
- Monday, June 22: Joining in the Round, working 2x2 rib in Continental and English methods
- Friday, June 26: Decreasing, including how to set up your decreases, switch to a long circular needle for magic loop, and work a small circumference using the magic loop method
- Monday, June 29: Finishing your hat + attaching your H+W foldover label
We'll be posting all of our tutorials here on our blog, and on our new YouTube channel, and keeping you up to date on instagram. Need to go at a slightly different pace, or aren't ready to start just yet? No problem. The tutorials will stay live forever and are forever free, whether you purchase the kit or not.
If you haven't gotten yours yet, head on over here to grab your own All Hands Beanie Kit. Kits include: print and digital copies of the pattern, a skein of Forge in the color of your choice, and a custom H+W logo leather label. You'll need: four stitch markers, a tapestry needle, a sharp sewing needle and thread, and a size US 6 / 4.00 mm 16” [40 cm] circular needle and a set of double-pointed needles (dpn), or a long circular needle for magic loop, depending on your preference (we'll start with a 16" circular needle in the tutorials, and then show you how to work the crown using both magic loop and dpns).
We can't wait to go on this journey with you, and we'd love to see your projects, whether it's your first hat or your 500th. Use the hashtag #hwallhandstogether and tag us @hudsonandwestco so we can find your posts on instagram and Ravelry!
