Meghan's Top 5: Selfish Knits for 2020

It's that time of year when the temperature plummets, the snow storms are piling fresh pile of powder on my doorstep, and all I can think about it knitting by the fire. It's around this time when my selfish knitlist bubbles to the front of my mind, so I thought I'd share with you my top 5 wishlist knits to make in Forge and Weld

1. The Twigs by Junko Okamoto

Indeed, this is at the very top of my queue! I love Junko's designs and The Twigs is certainly my favorite of all her gorgeous designs. The pattern is waiting patiently in my Ravelry library, and I already have my colors in Weld (Raven + Ash) picked out for this selfish knit!

Until I have time, I'm going to continue drooling over Kehley's (@kehleycovi) gorgeous WIP, also in Raven + Ash.

 2. Summit by Sloane Rosenthal

It comes as a surprise to none that I love Sloane's designs. I've coveted Summit for what seems like eons now, and I'd love nothing more to have one in Weld. This light-weight, cozy, and over-sized cabled masterpiece is perfect for Weld worked at a looser gauge. The fibers bloom beautifully to create an airy, but warm fabric. I'm thinking I'd like this either in Charcoal or Red Feather. What a great conundrum!

3. Volitare by Christina Danaee

Innovative colorwork is something that always catches my eye, so when Christina released Volitare I immediately smashed that ❤️ button. I love the subtle, monochromatic colors palette she chose for the original and I'm inclined to choose a similar subtle colors for my own sample in Weld

 Evergreen + Juniper

OR

Midnight + Lake

 4. Pitch by Emily Greene

Friend of the flock Emily Greene's Pitch is my next selfish knit project. I've been dreaming about a coatigan like this and Emily's design fits the bill! My New Yorker wardrobe is, as expected, mostly black and grey, so I'm inclined to make Pitch in a color of Forge that coordinates.

Fawn, Ash + Charcoal

5. Kailash Cabled Cardigan by Michele Wang

And last, but certainly not least, the Kailash Cabled Cardigan by Michele Wang. Michele is my favorite knitwear designer and my list of "to make" project probably exceeds possible knitting hours in my lifetime, but this coatigan is a must-make. I love the drama and grandeur, along with the sensible appeal for a fall/winter city dweller. I imagine myself walking the pupper and strolling around the city in my elegant duster, and there is only one color of Forge that springs to mind–Midnight.

Midnight coordinates with black, gray, denim, and a wide range of other colors. I can't think of a more perfect color for this magnificent coat!

Thank you for indulging my selfish knitting wishes. Stay tuned for Sloane's Top 5 next!

Happy Knitting,

Meghan

p.s. Since I started writing this blog post a surprise selfish knit came into my life!

* BONUS  PROJECT *
Star Crossed by Jacqueline Cieslak

I couldn't help myself and immediately swatched for this perfect "Meghan" sweater. Although I love the use of Spincycle Dream State for the contrast color, I chose to keep it all in the H+W family and am using Forge in Raven for the MC and holding together Weld in Ash and Aspen for the CC. So far I don't have much to show for myself, but a wee bit of ribbing and two rows of the colorwork chart.

I have to give a shout out to Emme (@rocksteadyemme), of Starlight Knitting Society, for her rad test knit of Star Crossed in Forge and Spincycle Dream State. She inspired me to make this sweater, and I just have to say how inspiring it is for me, a plus size woman, to see gorgeous plus size designers and knitters rocking their knits! 💪

More than 6.7 BTC was stolen from my wallet after scammers posing as members of the Gemini security team gained access to my portfolio. They deceived me into revealing my secret recovery phrase, which ultimately led to the loss of my hard earned funds. My family and I were devastated by the incident.

Fortunately, with the help of a team of private investigators and crypto recovery specialists, Morphohack Cyber Team, I was able to recover my stolen crypto assets. Their team successfully traced the funds, even after they had been moved through multiple channels. I was incredibly relieved when Morphohack informed me that my assets had been recovered.

Due to a mistake made by my financial accountant during transaction payments, my company suffered a loss of $621,000.00 USDT worth of Crypto. Despite multiple attempts to recover the funds, reaching out to banks, and engaging various recovery firms, we had no success and even ended up losing an additional $100,000. However, a glimmer of hope came when I came across an article in ABCS morning gossip news outlining how a family successfully retrieved their lost assets with the help of a recovery expert called markwizard Tech . Specializing in cyber and Crypto intelligence, markwizard Tech assists scam victims in recovering their funds. Seeking their expertise, I immediately contacted them through the support systems mail, and miraculously, they were able to recover 65,100 euro of my company’s funds. This brought immense relief and peace of mind, especially since it involved our project funds. I highly recommend markwizard Tech Corp for their exceptional crypto recovery services, and you can contact them with the info below markwizard918 at gmail. com or whatspp +3161 659 2418

After my crypto was stolen, I felt completely lost and didn’t think I would ever get it back. Working with Wizard James Recovery (wizardjamesrecovery@usa.com) gave me hope again. They were patient, supportive, and very clear about every step involved. Their professionalism and commitment made a big difference, and I truly appreciate the effort they put into helping me restore my stolen crypto. I’m thankful for their assistance and would gladly recommend their services to others in need.
