WIP Wednesday: Meghan's The Throwover, Part 1

Guys, I might have too much time to knit. Is that possible?

The Throwover by Andrea Mowry 1/2 done!

Early last week, I placed an order with one of our new stockists, Tolt Yarn and Wool, for Spincycle Dream State in Mississippi Marsala and Salty Dog, and it showed up on my doorstep just as I was blocking my freshly finished Kuffel

Several skeins of Forge in Midnight were already set aside for the delightful retro The Throwover by Andrea Mowry, so I eagerly wound up my skeins of hypnotically shifting Dream State to cast on ASAP! I'm making the 58" [147.5 cm] finished chest, which is the same size I made for my Kuffel, and measures on me about 8" [20.5 cm] of positive ease.

Just like for my Kuffel (and with all top down sweaters), I skipped the neck ribbing and cast on using the long-tail cast on and started the yoke increases right away. Because I'm impatient, I went back and picked up the stitches for my neck ribbing right after I finished the yoke chart. All I did was pick up the number of stitches I cast on with my smaller needle, and worked my 1x1 rib. As usual, I finished the neck ribbing using the tubular bind off for a pristine edge!

Look at that gorgeous tubular bind off!

Here's the thing. I probably have too much time to knit, because approximately one "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on Audible" later, my yoke was done! Spincycle has properly named Dream State, as it seems I was transported into such a state as I motored through my yoke watching the colors gently shift and blend.

(Pretty sure this was the point in my yoke/HP book binge where Harry and Ron figured out what Hermione had already figured out 100 pages ago... #girlsrule)

After I separated the sleeves and body I decided to give this sucker a quick try on to see how it fit. I steamed it out to get rid of any major pre-blocking lumpiness and placed it on a few long circular needles.

(Late night bathroom quarantine selfie with Hipster Sheep Popsocket!)

It looks great! I'm super pleased with the fit so far, and, from the look of the bicep circumference, they aren't too big, which is a rather common problem in many pattern graded up for larger sizes. Woohoo!

There are plans in the making for lower body modifications, but I'm not ready to commit to them publicly yet. Stay tuned for an update and I'll unveil either the finished body as written or modified!

Until next time, happy knitting (in quarantine) and stay healthy and safe. ❤️

A sophisticated scam targeting seniors in New York has emerged, exploiting their trust and vulnerability by impersonating the Social Security Administration . This elaborate scheme began with the creation of a counterfeit SSA portal, meticulously designed to appear legitimate and convincing. The scammers aimed to ensnare seniors into a fraudulent operation that promised to convert their Social Security Income (SSI) payments into stablecoins, a type of cryptocurrency intended to maintain a stable value. The tactics employed by the scammers were varied and insidious. They likely utilized phishing emails, social media advertisements, and even robocalls to reach their victims. These communications often highlighted the purported benefits of converting SSI payments into stablecoins, emphasizing advantages such as ease of access, potential for growth, and enhanced security. Such messages were particularly alluring to many seniors who may not have been well-versed in digital currencies. The scammers framed the conversion as a protective measure against inflation and economic instability, further enticing their targets.Once seniors were directed to the fraudulent portal, they were prompted to provide sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers, bank account details, and other confidential data. The portal was crafted to closely mimic the official SSA website, complete with similar logos and layouts, making it exceedingly difficult for victims to discern the deception. After entering their information, victims were often instructed to transfer their existing SSI payments into a cryptocurrency wallet controlled by the scammers, under the guise of converting their funds into stablecoins. The operation was extensive, with the scammers managing to establish multiple domains to facilitate their nefarious activities. They created a network of websites that redirected victims to the fake portal, creating the illusion of numerous legitimate options for converting their payments. This complexity allowed the scammers to evade detection for an extended period. Pyramid hack solution intervened, working diligently to dismantle 15 of these fraudulent domains. Their concerted efforts led to the recovery of approximately $3 million that had been illicitly siphoned from unsuspecting seniors. This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and education regarding online scams, particularly for older adults who may be more susceptible to such schemes. It underscores the necessity for individuals to verify the legitimacy of any financial offers and to exercise caution when sharing personal information online. The pivotal role of Pyramid hack solution in this recovery effort highlights the critical need for resources that assist victims of online fraud, ensuring that those affected can reclaim their lost funds and restore their financial security. You should learn how the most prevalent kinds of cryptocurrency scams operate, how to recognize them, and what to do if you fall victim to one if you are considering investing in cryptocurrency or currently own digital assets. Giveaways, new romance scams, phishing, extortion emails, false company notifications, blackmail, “rug pulls,” and maybe fake mining programs or networks are all examples of scams. Poorly written white papers, overzealous marketing campaigns, and get-rich-quick boasts are all indicators of cryptocurrency scams. To avoid getting scammed, there are a few things you can do. Refuse to provide your private bitcoin keys when asked. No one requires those keys for a valid bitcoin transaction, and they govern your wallet and cryptocurrency access. Finally, avoid working with investment managers who approach you and claim to be able to grow your money rapidly. The ideal people to get in touch with if you think you may have fallen victim to a scam is Wizard James Recovery.
